Man Loses to Transgender Woman in MMA

An MMA fight between a transgender woman and man took place in Brazil last Saturday.

The fight took place in the Mr. Cage 34 promotion in the city of Manaus. The fight took place at strawweight and saw Anne Veriato fight Railson Paixao.

Anne Veriato, is a transgender woman who started training Jiu Jitsu when she was just 7 years old.

She won a unanimous victory over her opponent, after basically dominating him for the entire fight.

Anne can remember how opponents would pass her off as an easy win, because of her gender identification.

She always said she’d fight men though, as she believes that she does have an advantage over women.

”It’s only fair to fight men,” Veriato said. “It never crossed my mind to fight a woman because I think I’m too good. If I beat men my entire career, I can still beat them despite the hormone process. I only know that I’m good after I beat men. That’s what makes me happy and hungrier to train. I don’t think it’s fair to fight women.”

A promoter Mr. Cage said that 21 year old Veriato had asked for a debut MMA fight. And when they said she was born a man, so she could only fight a man she was completely happy with it.
