More people spending time on toilet than exercising in the UK.
Let’s be honest, having a big sh*t is a great feeling. In fact, there’s not many better ways to start your day.
However, you should also know that staying fit and healthy is important.
Well, a study in the UK found that a big number of people were enjoying their poo too much; 2/3 of the public were found to spend 3 hours and 9 minutes on the toilet.
While this sounds like a reasonable amount of time to spend releasing last night’s curry, compare this to the average 90 minutes of exercise per week for the average person in the UK, and it seems more like a problem.
Most have poor knowledge on fitness
While it’s not fair to expect everyone to be experts in nutrition & fitness, you’d think that many would know the basics by now.
However, in a survey including 2,000 people, only 12% of them knew how much exercise was required to maintain good health (at least 150 minutes per week).

Many watch videos while on the toilet
So 3 hours and 9 minutes might sound like a long time to spend on the throne every week.
However, the chief executive of UKactive believes that this time isn’t actually spent completely on poo’ing.
Instead, many enjoy watching videos or scrolling social media – which has become the modern day replacement for the old-school newspaper on the throne.
On the issue, Steven Ward (chief executive) stated: “Humans are made to move, but modern living has stripped physical activity out of our lives to the point where we pass more time spending a penny than we do getting sweaty.
“The major health concern here [in the UK] is our lack of exercise, but things like poor diet, lack of exertion and our tendency to play on smartphones in the bathroom are all other factors that are driving this inbalance.”
